About Laney…
I am a Young Adult writer of dark fantasy, mixed with a spike of romance, a hint of history, and a dash of mythology. I sort of fell into this industry backwards. My intention was never to write novels for public eyes, although I have always written. Mostly poetry and short stories.
In 2010, I began writing The Fire Born Novels and completed the first in the trilogy, TIED, in 2011. A dark fantasy/paranormal romance, scheduled for release September 9, 2013 with J. Taylor Publishing. Check it out on: Goodreads
The second book in The Fire Born trilogy, TORN, is under way and scheduled for release in 2014.
I have been a voracious reader for as long as I can remember. Judy Blume sucked me in at an early age and Anne Rice tightened the grip in my early twenties. My vices are YA fantasy, paranormal romance, historical fiction, mythology and sci-fi.
I love exploring other worlds and seeing things in a different light — from a different angle. I am a former classical dancer, music snob, chef, right-brained thinker to a fault, and a notorious second-guesser. I love tea, hate the winter, and when I’m not writing, I can be found running. Maybe. Which I really enjoy. Sort of.

You sound like a very dedicated writer, best wishes on your novel, I know how hard the road is, but no doubt you’ll succeed.

Can’t wait to see and read your world and the experience you are giving us! Creating a new world for all of us to experience and live in isn’t easy and I can’t wait to experience you take on it!

Those are big words to live up to, Rob. Hope I don’t disappoint a fellow fantasy fan.
Thanks so much for the encouragement throughout. It’s very much appreciated.

You sound like me, never had any intentions on publishing your novel.
I began writing my novel about 4 years and I’m at the final stages of getting it ready to release it!
I too am a former dancer, so we have a lot in common! I will have to go and check out your blog and see what you have to say! Have a great evening!

Congrats on getting ready for the release! Big accomplishment.
Once a writer always a writer, I guess.
Fear was a giant hurdle to get over. Once I did, everything started to fall into place.
Fellow dancer, too? Cool. Like minds.
I’ll check your blog out, as well. Much luck with your launch!

Hey Andy, you’re welcome.
Always love your stuff. A combination of inspiring and heartbreaking. As a writer, what’s better? Your photography is really beautiful as usual, too. Have a great day!
